January 15, 2026: Please note that this page is OUT OF DATE as I have not had capacity to update it during “Operation Metro Surge,” that has been running here in the Twin Cities since the beginning of December. I’ve opted to be out supporting my community as much as possible during this time and plan to resume updating this page once I am able to achieve a sustainable balance. That said, I still recommend reading through this list as some of the articles discuss long-standing farm worker justice issues.

If you’re in the Twin Cities, please help protect our neighbors. If you’re not in the Twin Cities, please advocate however you can for ICE to be completely defunded across the country so they cannot continue to spread their campaign of terror.

About this page

This is a listing of news articles I’ve been reading that pertain to migrant and farm worker justice, organized by topic. I try to update this list regularly, in the hope that folks interested in staying up to date on this topic will find it useful. I’ll be cycling through articles so that most are recent news, but I’ll also be including some older in-depth pieces that I’ve found especially important over time.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list – this is just a selection of articles that I’ve had a chance to read through and have found relevant and informative. It’s also not an endorsement of everything that’s said in these articles. I’ve included certain pieces because they look at the issues from different angles.

To be clear, I believe we should all care about the safety and well-being of migrants not only because of how essential their contributions are to our economy and food system, but also – and more importantly – because they are our neighbors and fellow human beings. But nevertheless I’ve included some pieces that focus on the economic impacts of immigration actions and federal policies because I know that those arguments, unfortunately, often hold more weight with decision-makers than the arguments based in universal human rights.

If you’re looking for more titles to browse, I recommend checking out the News Coverage page on the United Farm Workers website. I also recommend subscribing to Migrant Clinicians Network’s Substack to get important updates sent to your email inbox!

And, if you feel inspired to take action based on what you learn, check out my Take Action page (coming soon!) and/or follow the organizations listed here!
