ICE Preparedness & Response
ICE has been ramping up activity in the Twin Cities, kidnapping our neighbors, taking workers from their jobs, and terrorizing residents. But we’re not letting them intimidate us into silence or inaction. Want to get involved? Here are some resources I’m aware of!
Get trained as an observer:
- Monarca MN
- Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC) – follow their Instagram for announcements of upcoming trainings and other events
- Immigrant Defense Network – digital handbook for constitutional observers
Report ICE activity to rapid response networks:
Know your rights:
- Monarca – “dos” and “don’ts” of interacting with ICE
- MIRAC – 30-minute video and requests for Know Your Rights trainings
- Unidos MN – written info and videos covering rights in different situations
- Immigrant Legal Resource Center – approximately 1.25-hour video recording of an Immigration Know Your Rights and Advocate Training
- We Have Rights – videos in eight languages covering rights in different situations
- ACLU – protest rights information
Support our impacted neighbors:
- Defend the 612 – volunteer sign-up form to connect with opportunities in your Minneapolis neighborhood
Share signage and print resources:
- Monarca – downloadable guides, signs, and rights cards
- Immigrant Defense Project – infographics, flyers, posters, and more
- Immigrant Legal Resource Center – order or print red cards in 56 different languages
- Immigrant Defense Network – downloadable posters
